The nuclear option

Can you spank a

with a wet noodle?

The bill, as written, would bring about the largest overhaul of U.S. elections in a generation, touching on almost every aspect of the electoral process. Democrats say the changes are even more important now as Republican-controlled states impose new voting restrictions after the divisive 2020 election.

Yet it’s a motivating issue for Republicans, too, with GOP Senate leader Mitch McConnell so determined to stop Democrats that he will personally argue against the measure, a rare role for a party leader that shows the extent to which Republicans are prepared to fight as a hearing for the bill begins Tuesday.

Those offered a job must take it or lose their unemployment?

So say the millionaire and billionaire members of congress because this would put workers back to a $7 or less per hour job and people waiting on customers to live on tips and no benefits for any worker!

21 Michigan jobs that pay less than $10 an hour on average - mlive.com

NOT!

Congress makes their money plus hundreds to thousands from lobbyist plus total benefits for them and their families!

Some in congress make millions from other countries like Russia and China isn’t that right ‘Moscow Mitch’?

Tough jobs report scrambles Washington battle ahead of crucial week

Stephen Collinson

Analysis by Stephen Collinson, CNN

Updated 7:16 AM EDT, Mon May 10, 2021

The report will further juice an already tense atmosphere in Washington as divisions are hardening after Biden’s first 100 days in office. The President will deliver remarks on the economy Monday, then host the four top leaders of the House and Senate for talks for the first time on Wednesday. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell will attend the meeting just days after saying 100% of his focus is on obstructing the new presidency. The White House is, meanwhile, readying a strong push for Biden’s infrastructure package. The plan’s billing as a massive jobs package will take on even more resonance given the invigorated debate about unemployment.

President Biden is doing a better job for this country, even without help from congress thah President Obama (God Love Him), President Bill Clinton (God Love Him), President Jimmy Carter (God Love Him), and all of the republican presidents in-between!

Adrenaline the party back to life?

Beat Kevin McCarthy with a big stick!

This country needs at least two political parties with the interest of the country within their heart!

(There lies the rub)!

As of November 2020, there were 225 state-level ballot-qualified political party affiliates in the United States.

Some parties are recognized in multiple states.

For example, both the Democratic Party and the Republican Party are recognized in all 50 states and Washington, D.C.

These two parties account for 102 of the 225 total state-level parties.

Three minor parties were recognized in more than 10 states as of November 2020:

Libertarian Party: 35 states

Green Party: 22 states

Constitution Party: 15 states

https://ballotpedia.org/List_of_political_parties_in_the_United_States

If I were any member of the old ‘republican party’ as stated by Meghan McCain from the ‘View’

I would be working hard to convince Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.), to run against Kevin McCarthy and/or trump

And

Bring that party back to life by

Adrenaline

Or

 Defibrillating?

This country needs at least two political parties with the interest of the country within their heart!

(There lies the rub)!

The GOP wants to get rid of Cheney because she is speaking out about the Big Lie.

This isn’t all about fealty to Trump.

The Big Lie is the only way the GOP can win.

Top allies of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) are vowing to oust Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.),

one of the harshest critics of former President Trump in either party, from her leadership post by the end of the month.

America is the next India!

 Sound Familiar?

Think about it?

India’s pandemic did it need to happen?

Opinion: India's COVID-19 policy was a disaster waiting to happen

Despite having time to prepare for another wave of infections, the Indian government focused on denial. It's about time the government owns up to its mistakes instead of blaming others, writes Ankita Mukhopadhyay.

The government had a year to prepare for this wave. But when 2021 began, it became complacent, dismantling temporary COVID-19 isolation centers, easing social distancing and lockdown measures, despite warning signs of a next wave and new variants in other countries.

In February, it seemed like India had gotten Covid-19 under control, with daily cases falling nearly 90% from the peak of the first wave last year.

Now, the country is experiencing the world's worst outbreak. Daily cases have been rising continuously for the past 10 days; on Monday, India reported 352,991 new cases, breaking yet another record for the highest single-day figure globally.

Nuclear option (disambiguation)

The nuclear option is a political tactic used in the United States Senate.

The Democrats control the White house after 4 horrible years of a trump milking and his attempt to over through our democracy.

Democracy - Wikipedia

Thanks to a corrupt republican senate controlled by McConnell, the judicial branch of our government by rich politicians!

The 2020 elections decided control of both chambers. In the House of Representatives, the Democratic Party retained their majority (albeit reduced from the 116th Congress).

On January 20, 2021, three new Democratic senators (Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock of Georgia and Alex Padilla of California) were sworn in, resulting in 50 seats held by Republicans, 48 seats held by Democrats, and two held by independents who caucus with the Democrats. Effectively, this created a 50–50 split, which had not occurred since the 107th Congress in 2001.

With Vice President Kamala Harris serving as the tie breaker in her constitutional role as Senate President, Democrats have control of the Senate, and thereby have full control of Congress for the first time since the 111th Congress ended in 2011.

“Yell Police Stop” Girl in pink would be dead!

A still image from police body cam appears to show what police describe as the girl swinging a knife toward another female, before police fired, April 20 2021, in Columbus, Ohio.

16 year old Ma'Khia Bryant was being taunted by some others, I understand that she went in doors and called the police (Good Girl).

I still remember my sister at 16 being taunted and my move at 17!

Then as a 16 year will do, she grabbed a knife and went outside to what would be understood to be payback!

(Not Smart)!

I am no expert as to what happened next, one can only look at the picture from the policeman to see that his action while just getting to the fight was drastically limited to his choices?

Gina McCarthy, who formerly worked as head of the Environmental Protection Agency under President Barack Obama, said Biden understands the country can tackle climate change domestically while also boosting the economy and that the solutions can benefit everyone, including communities that have been disproportionately impacted by pollution.

"We do have a leader that understands that this is an intersectional issue," she said, adding that the pandemic, economic development, climate change and racial issues are all intertwined.

White House national climate adviser Gina McCarthy said the United States needs to be humble going into this week's Earth Day summit after four years away from global climate negotiations while President Donald Trump was in office.

"There's no question that we have to come back with a lot of eating a lot of humble pie," she told ABC News' Chief Meteorologist Ginger Zee, saying the U.S. has not been engaged with our allies the last four years.

Within as little as 50 years, many regions of the United States could see their freshwater supply reduced by as much as a third, warn scientists. Of all the freshwater basins that channel rain and snow into the rivers from which we draw the water we rely on for everything from drinking and cooking to washing and cleaning, nearly half may be unable to meet consumers’ monthly demands by 2071. This will mean serious water shortages for Americans!

Senate Rule XXII

The Standing Rules of the Senate are the parliamentary procedures adopted by the United States Senate that govern its procedure. The Senate's power to establish rules derives from Article One, Section 5 of the United States Constitution: "Each House may determine the rules of its proceedings ..."

There are currently forty-four rules, with the latest revision adopted on January 24, 2013.[1] The most recent addition of a new rule occurred in 2006, when The Legislative Transparency and Accountability Act of 2006 introduced a 44th rule on earmarks. The stricter rules are often waived by unanimous consent.
